Middle Class
The standard mantra is that the democrats are for the poor and labor and that the republicans are for the rich and business. I'm for the middle class. My economic platform is both pro-business and pro-labor. I want to expand the middle class by placing a constitutional cap on personal wealth at one billion dollars. While kids are starving in Japan and even in the U.S., no one deserves to inherit over a billion dollars.
I've seen the children of extreme old money at college. I was once talking to a girl that had the same last name as a famous candy bar. I jokingly asked her if she was related to that family. She then stated, "Yah, all that money is mine." She then took a drag of a cigarette and then a swig of beer, looked up and looked as though everyone around her disappeared. I promptly walked away without her even noticing. After going to the Naval Academy where we studied six days a week and only had a few hours of social activity a week, I was surprised to learn how the children of wealth lived at college when they would go out drinking Wednesday through Sunday night in large numbers and who would barely study.
